During the development of Trondskjær and Støttfjord, the owners wished to stand as pioneers for a minimum environmental footprint of small fishing vessels.

The vessels have therefore installed equipment specially designed for environmentally friendly fishing. Many of the innovative features can already be found on the market, but not yet on such small vessels.

The vessels are designated SK-3355 and represents the modern age of ship design, designed for the future. The design process have included optimizing the hull using analyses and model tests in a towing tank, while every detail is considered to create the best possible design for this type and size of vessel.

The vessels are equipped with a hybrid propulsion system, and have been acknowledged financial support from Enova for the implementation of this (Stadyard får Enova-støtte til energioptimalisering).
