Live fish carriers

Skipskompetanse has since it's founding had a leading position in development of live fish carriers, and has contributed to a new generation of well boats. With increased capacity utilization and larger vessels we have contributed to form a more economical and environmentally friendly transportation of live fish, with focus on improved fish welfare.

Managing director Per Jørgen Silden designed "Ro Master" for the Rostein company when he was working at Blaalid AS, shipyard. Silden took over the rights for this design when he resigned from Blaalid and founded Skipskompetanse in 2007.

Skipskompetanse later got the assignment of designing Rostein's next live fish carrier "Ro Fjord" which is a continued development on this concept.

Skipskompetanse has also developed and designed "Bjørg Pauline" for the company Nordlaks Transport.

The projects mentioned above have been developed in cooperation with the well boat companies, converting their ideas and experiences to specific vessels with our "signature design".

MMC Tendos has been the main supplier of fish handling equipment and they have also contributed in the development of these projects. Naval Consult has been subcontractor for class drawings, production drawings and calculations, while Skipskompetanse has developed some of the detail, arrangement and system drawings, for instance for fish handling systems.
