Work Boat - Norwegian Coastal Administration

Lindesnes - Norwegian Coastal Administration

Skipskompetanse AS has together with Kystverket (Norwegian Coastal Administration) developed and designed a work boat.

The job has consisted of the development of the vessel's basic design, feasibility study, including weight calculations, design of preliminary hull lines as well as draught/trim evaluations and specifications and documentation for the tender process.

Skipskompetanse has also assisted Kystverket Rederi in the tender process toward shipyards.

The vessel was built by the ship yard Båtservice Mandal and will be their yard number 81. The yard has many years of experience with development and construction of light crafts and high speed vessels. Båtservice Mandal was also in charge og detail drawings, production documents and final hull lines.

The new workboat replaces the old 'Bjørnøy' and will assist the main vessel 'Hekkingen' on assignments along the coast. The vessel was handed over from the yard in December 2009 and christened January 11th 2010 in Ålesund. The ship is named 'Lindesnes' after a lighthouse on the southernmost tip of Norway.
