Yard no. 142 at Vaagland Båtbyggeri

Skipskompetanse has developed a new design for a live fish carrier for Nordlaks Transport (ex Startrans AS), yard number 142 at the Vaagland Båtbyggeri AS.

The vessel has been developed in cooperation with Naval Consult, the owners (Startrans AS), the shipyard, and MMC Tendos. Naval Consult has delivered class drawings, calculations and production drawings.

The project focuses on low operating costs, reliable operation and flexibility. The ship is equipped with diesel-electric propulsion with conventional gear and propeller.

The vessel has a length of 70m, breadth of 15m and a cargo hold of approximately 2800m³.

The ship has been given the name "Bjørg Pauline" and was delivered and christened in November 2010.

The vessel is equipped with the following systems from Redox AS:

• Ozone and oxygen systems
• Oxygen regulation
• Automatic washing and disinfection of tanks
• Management, alarm functions and logging of all important parameters

For fish handling, the following systems from MMC Tendos are installed:

• Vacuum pumps
• Pressurized fish holds for loading and unloading
• Loading and unloading with means of water flow
• Moveable bulkheads
• Fish counters, including counters for fingerlings
• Circulation system
• Advanced integrated control system
