Yard no. 47 at Larsnes Mek. Verksted

Rohav AS contracted a new live fish carrier from Larsnes Mek Verksted AS. In developing the vessel, Skipskompetanse worked together with the owners, Naval Consult, the shipyard and MMC Tendos. Naval Consult delivered class drawings, calculations and production drawings.

The vessel has a length of 72m, breadth of 15m and a fish hold of approximately 2700m³. This gives a loading capacity of around 400 metric tonnes of live fish. The vessel is one of the biggest of it's kind.

The ship christened and delivered to the owners December 2009.

The vessel can cleanse all water going in and out of the tanks using both UV radiation and 50 micron filters. 'Ro Fjord' wil therefore be an important tool in combating salmon lice.

The water treatment systems were delivered from Redox AS and include:

• UV system
• Ozone and oxygen systems
• Oxygen regulation
• Automatic washing and disinfection of tanks
• Management, alarm functions and logging of all important parameters

In addition, systems from MMC Tendos for fish handling are installed:

• Vacuum pumps
• Pressurized fish holds for loading and unloading
• Loading and unloading with means of water flow
• Moveable bulkheads
• Fish counters, including counters for fingerlings
• Circulation systems
• Advanced integrated control system
